Q: What is the AEM-100 price compared to the AEM-100i?
A: Both the AEM-100 and AEM-100i are $599 suggested retail in the United States, but in some locations, the AEM-100 is priced lower.

Q: Why are the faders so far apart?
A: If you look carefully at the AEM-100i, you'll notice it's based on the AEM-100. All of the knobs are pretty much in the same location. The AEM-100 had the faders far apart to fit in the Fader Cuts.

As a manufacturer we wanted to come to market quickly with an improvement on the AEM-100 so we changed the faceplate, took out the Fader Cut buttons, made the faceplate easier to understand, and changed the knobs to rubber for more comfort and room in the effects section. We also added curves and reverse to the line faders because this is what most DJs felt were missing on this mixer.

We understand that ideally this type of mixer should have the line faders close together but the simple modification of the AEM-100 made it possible for us to introduce the AEM-100i quickly. Ideally the line faders should be closer together, and this is something we will pay attention to on our next model.
